A Big Loss to Cricket

Peter Roebuck’s untimely death is a great loss for Cricket. In my opinion the best piece on Laxman is the one written by Peter Roebuck in October 2010. Who could have described Laxman better than Peter Roebuck. God bless Roebuck forever & ever. Not because he wrote well about Laxman (in a recent article he infact wanted Laxman dropped from the side), but because he was such a great writer whose articles I always craved to read.

The genius and the doubter by Peter Roebuck

VVS Laxman is an artist whose strength lies not in his artistry but in his competitive spirit, a batsman who needs adversity to unleash the giant within.“His career has been a compelling tale of greatness remaining locked away in the mind till the call comes and then emerging and laying waste before retreating back into its shell”… The Genius and the Doubter
